Ribeiro Brava ideal if you wish for peace and quiet. Excellent sunset views from hotel. Much more to see and do in Funchal. But not a train smash to stay elsewhere on the isle provided you have a car.

An absolutely beautiful island, well worth the long journey. Recommend anyone who goes to do the East, West and Nuns Valley Tours, the only way to see the true Madeira.....
