Recommend it to any Africa freak. Not solely Kigali, but above all the North-West (Goma border crossing) areas...

Rwanda is beautiful. All the volcanic soil, means that almost anything grows there. We saw the gorillas whihc was an amazing experience. Kilgali was a fabulous city. It was sda the see and hear about the genicide, however, which is still very much a part of the recent history and their life right now.

If you love to trek in splendid jungles and be thrilled out of your mind, go to Rwanda to trek Gorillas and Golden Monkeys-you will not be disappointed. The lodge was lovely as was the food and service.
Roads are now in and the country is clean and re-built within the last 14 years, full of pride.

1994 - 1995 after the masacre, spent time living in Kigali with the Australian, indian and Ugandan military - it was a blast

Lived there four years (1984-1987) and 2008-2009. Pre and post genocide. Radically different experiences--so much to say about both times! Seeing the Mountain Gorillas (which I saw 3-4 times) still one of all time life experiences!!

A beautiful country where the people now say they are all one tribe.

Kigali in 2008. Very impressive and shockingly clean. Still many challenges, but stunning progress since the genocide.
