Does anyone know how much would it cost (all in all in USD) travelling to Machu Pichu from Lima?? Is it possible to get there for a 3-day stay in Peru? how much should I prepare?

Try at Yahoo Travel for the airlines prices offer and accommodation, for an estimation, then you can book online for these stuff... get to tripadvisor website to search what to do there, check the internal domestic airline to Machu Pichu, I think it wouldnt be that costly for you.

we are going to macchu picchu in july from brasilia. we are flying with lan though i booked thru taca.com. from lima to m.p. it should not be more than a couple hundred u.s. according to others i have spoken to about going there. allow for acclimatisation though.
as for a 3 day stay total in peru or in m.p.? 3 only in peru may be a trifle difficult and very rushed. i understand that one needs a good 2-3 days just for m.p. -

From Lima you have to fly to Cusco. The flight shouldn´t take more than one hour. The biggest national carrier is Lan, which is actually a chilean companhy. Check for prices on www.lan.com. The Taca site may be helpful as well: www.taca.com In Cusco there are several accommodation possibilities that you can browse online. From Cusco tourists take a daily train to Águas Calientes, the small town where Machu Picchu is located. Buy the tickets in advance on http://www.perurail.com/en/ Train and plane tickets in Peru may be kind of pricey, also the entrance to Machu Picchu. But accommodation, food and taxis won´t cost you so much.

so, is it better to buy the train tickets in advance?? would it be cheaper than buying the train tickets on the day itself?
