Hi Roya, Yes, Malaria medicine is important. Make sure you ride a matatu and boda-boda in Nairobi. You'll miss part of the African culture if you don't. Are you going on safari? Please try to at least see some of the game parks. You'll never forget your first safari. I was doing mission work in Rwanda so didn't get a chance to see the gorillas. Hope you can. Ralph

Being from Kenya I'd say its the best thing that you might ever want to do. First thing is to always keep an open mind and be open to a different way of life. It might be hard at first, but prepare yourself mentally before making the journey.
Secondly, be safe. ALWAYS! Kenya is a safe country but it can only be just as safe as long as you keep yourself safe. So walk in a group if you must and know where you are going and only buy things from a store. Lastly, have fun and enjoy a part of the world where you have never been. Bon voyage! -

there is a new anti malarial drug that you take only after you have the first malaria symptoms. It's called Coartem manufactured by Novartis and it is really the best thing to do rather than take antimalarial drugs with many side-effects. Coartem can be taken also by children. We found out about it in Tanzania by a local European businessman, it was first released in these countries a year and a half ago.Look into it, my advice.

True.
