Though its islands spread through the sea and are claimed by many different continents and countries, Oceania contains some of the most scenic views and intriguing cultures, aided by the air of adventure required to experience them. Australia is the biggest of the group, with a population of over 20 million, while one of its smallest members, the Pitcairn Islands, contains only 47 registered citizens. Little Known Fact

In 1975 Wake Island, an uninhabited U.S. territory spanning only 7 kilometers (about 3 miles) in surface area, was used as a camp for over 8,000 Vietnamese refugees.
