It seems the program determines my home/start location based on the location of the servers for my ISP. This means the program thinks I am from Petaluma, CA and I am actually in San Francisco, CA. I've tried changing it in the profile several times and it says that the change has been made but nothing stays/sticks.
Is there a fix to this?
sometimes i add places i have been and while they will save and show on the map - the places don't always show on the box in my facebook profile. also, sometimes places i have added and appeared will suddenly disappear.
my specific problem is with the province of Alberta, Canada. i had added having been there some time ago, then suddenly the province appears blank and is not longer the blue selection for having been there. anytime i come back, i'll try adding it again.. this has been going on for over six months now.

I am using Windows Internet Explorer (not sure what version) on a Vista OS. As I said I have tried playing with internet settings and nothing has brought it back. I only started having this problem within the last month, and I had not updated IE at all to cause this new problem. The map is not displayed on the home page or when I click on Where I've Been, or when I try to add new places I have traveled. Could it me a problem on your end?

WIB and FB will not connect. When the box pops up for me to link them together, it just shows an error on the page.
** How do you calculate % visited?
There are several ways of doing this (% of the total number of countries or % of the world LAND area or ..) but the method chosen here seems to non-intuitive.
a-1) If you are using the surface area of the "entire earth" including the oceans as the denominator, then even if you go to EVERY country, your percentage travelled would be less than 50%.
a-2) If you pick states for the US and Canada, does it use the "area" of the state? I would think it should as a means of tracking "progress", right ? Otherwise why would someone pick that option?
** Several islands are not highlighted when you visit a country.
b-1) When you highlight the island in question and mark it as visited, you get an error message that says "An error has been logged, and sent to WIB Support."
b-1) Hainan is part of China and Sakhalin is part of Russia. The same goes for Sardinia and Corsica (Italy and France.) These are not disputed territories.
These 2 issues have been in this application for several months and I have reported them innumerable times.
I am a developer and I can't see why they would be hard to fix - unless the answer is "We're too good for serving the likes of you. We don't need you. We won't fix them and we're doing this specifically to annoy you." which in fairness may be impolite but atleast provides closure.
These locations continue to generate errors, or do not save:
- Zanzibar
- Azores
Can't answer question except the question of day. When I try to answer any older question nothing happens. Happens with Firefox and with Chrome so I don't think it's a browser issue. Thanks!
I am experiencing problems with attractions not remaining as saved by Where I've Been once I have saved them. Several weeks ago I saved Navy Pier and it remained saved. However, I have tried saving quite a few other attractions which have not been sucessful. Let me know if you need additional information. Thank you.

Bug or feature??? If I don't open "Where I've Been" in a new tab (from Facebook profile) it very quickly overflows the Firefox stack, and the originating Facebook page is lost. It seems to be the inverse of Google Maps, where everything happens in the same page and one can't go back a step or two. Here, it seems as if each time you twitch the mouse half a dozen new levels of pages are added to the "go back" stack.
Every time a page load in WIB, I get asked to connect to my FB profile! arrghh!
I'm running on Safari. My map keeps loading and reloading when I try to edit the map.
The Isle of Wight refuses to be selected when I try to tick 'I've been there.'

I cant save the west bank as place i have been
I have not been able to see my map for a couple of months now. I wrote once before, but never heard anything. If you can't fix this, I'll get rid of the app.
WIB no longer recognizes my Facebook login. Every time I access WIB, it asks me to sign up for Facebook or re-enter my login.
Hi yesterday WIB would show me my map correctly, but since today all my country information disappeared. It only can show me the cities I've been. Please fix that. Thx.

What do you mean when you say all of your country information disappeared? The pins on the map? Your photos/videos? The country information in general?

the pins for "Cities I want to go" and "Cities I've lived in" disappeared, and my countries map is completely white, so no more information there about wib, wil and wiwtg. Photos and Favorites are still there as well as "Cities I've been".

For the users who are trying to change their location:
1. Login
2. Go to your Profile & Maps page.
3. Click on Edit Profile.
4. Click on Location tab.
5. Under current location, type a partial/full name of the location you wish to change to. A drop down of suggestions should appear under. You MUST SELECT the location you wish to change to, or else it won't save properly.

This is the most bug-filled app I've run into on FB. Among the bugs I've encountered include:
I click the map and the map gets stuck to the cursor
It will not save the changes I make
My city map won't even load.
The city map won't save the changes I make
Is there any upcoming solution to these myriad of bugs?
Joe: What browser/os are you using and if possible, could you provide screenshots of your bugs. As for saving changes, refer to my previous post in this thread. It applies to all input boxes with suggestions. Unless you are talking about other kinds of changes you are trying to save.
I no longer believe you guys are trying to fix bugs. The "islands" bug has been going on for nearly a year and I have seen no progress.
The Nakhchivan enclave (Azerbaijan) to the east of Turkey is set as a part of Turkey - it is not- actually it is an interesting enclave parted from Azerbaijan by Armenia. Please correct that - I want to go there :-)

I also don't think you're trying to fix the stuff we report. "The islands" issue would probably take a programmer 10 minutes to fix. It just doesn't get fixed.
And how hard would it really be to make a coherent policy about which entities are on the map? Either make the entities countries or countries and semi-autonomous provinces. The way it is now just seems completely random. For example Sicily and Sardinia are parts of Italy. No reason for them to be separate entities on the map. And why is New Brunswick a separate "country on your map?
But one thing is a flawed map design... fix the stuff that is supposed to work but doesn't.
I am receiving 1 bucks for correct trivia answers for the last 11 answers.
My stats show 60 correct 1 incorrect answers, yet my bucks history shows that the last 12 answers were incorrect and I got 1 point for each.
Please fix this as I wanna save as much rain forest as I can :)

I haven't been able to update my where I've been account for over a year now. I get a error message every time I try to edit a new country ("An error has been logged, and sent to WIB Support"). Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the browser I use since I have tried to update my account with several different browsers, versions and computers. Hope someone can help me out here.
It wont save that "I've been there" for Svalbard, I can add other places, it's just Svalbard that I can't add.
