Mom & I go back to Ft. Leavenworth
I've always heard stories about being born on a military base (there was a tiny shirt that said "born behind bars"), and Mom has always said she wanted to take me back to Fort Leavenworth, so we finally went! It was like a postcard of America! Gorgeous old homes & buildings, with winding bricked streets, children playing in parks, and ponds and golf courses surrounding the whole place. It made me want to marry a military officer so we could live there and raise our kids! We even got to go into the hospital where I was born (they don't deliver babies there anymore) & see the house where my mom and dad lived (Daddy was attending Command and General Staff College). A wonderful trip down memory lane! Then we spent a couple days in Kansas City - shopping & sightseeing! March 2011
